Tony’s energies at Gabe, Calzaretta & Associates, LLC are concentrated on family law, criminal law, real estate and foreclosure defense, estate planning and representing small businesses. In the family law arena, Tony’s broad range of experience covers all areas, from custody disputes to adoptions, visitation, child support, divorce, paternity, removal of children from the state and domestic violence. When counseling family law clients, Tony prepares the client to deal with what can be a difficult time and focuses primarily on the best way to insulate the children from the process. Tony’s experience in family law is enhanced through his work with the Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s Matrimonial Law Committee. As the committee’s co-chair, he prepares educational seminars for fellow legal professionals. Tony also provides pro bono assistance as a facilitator to clients at various court calls in the 3rd District of Cook County.
Clients needing assistance with small business and real estate matters benefit from Tony’s skillful negotiation abilities with contracts of all types, and his experience dealing with architects, contractors, municipalities and syndicators. Tony teaches a series of Real Estate Investment classes on college campuses throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. The curriculum focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of purchasing, selling and investing in real estate as well as provides guidance as to how to protect your investments, how to form a business entity and how to be a successful landlord. Tony’s knowledge of real estate law provides him with the incite to protect the client’s rights in foreclosure actions, to negotiate short sales, deeds in lieu of foreclosure as well as providing assistance in obtaining loan modifications.
Tony is also an enthusiastic litigator who provides solid, intelligent defenses for those accused of misdemeanor, felony and traffic offenses from DUI to drug possession, assault, battery, and the like. He has also been successful in defense of juvenile cases and disputes with the Department of Children and Family Services.
Tony received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from Indiana University and his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School.
